As you may know, Guitar Pro 6 is no longer officially supported by Arobas Music since April 2018. If you recently launched Guitar Pro 6 from your macOS computer you might have noticed one of the two following alert messages:
Apple decided to stop the support of 32-bits applications for the future versions of macOS, and this decision applies from macOS 10.15 Catalina. As a result you won’t be able to install and use 32-bits applications such as Guitar Pro 6 with macOS Catalina and the future evolutions of macOS.
Operating systems are constantly evolving at a fast rate and are now really different from what they were when Guitar Pro 6 has been released 9 years ago in April 2010.
The technical structure on which Guitar Pro 6 has been built perfectly suited the operating systems of 2010, but this structure is now technically too different from the current operating systems.
As a result a Guitar Pro 6 adjustment would be a gigantic task that our small team, always dedicated to improve Guitar Pro and eager to offer new features, won’t be able to perform. We are really sorry about that.
However please note that even if we can no longer guarantee you that Guitar Pro 6 will work properly, you should still be able to use Guitar Pro 6 normally with macOS 10.14 and earlier compatible versions of macOS.
If you want to keep using Guitar Pro 6, simply avoid to install macOS Catalina (and upcoming versions).
If you want to install macOS Catalina (or later) and still being able to use Guitar Pro please note that you can upgrade to Guitar Pro 8 which is obviously not affected by this limitation from Apple.
As a Guitar Pro 6 user and if you own a valid license you have access to a preferential rate for your upgrade (50% off), do not miss this opportunity.
